* Later German edition of this famous
1875 gay novel (arguably the very first with a happy ending), nevertheless
very rare, and a beautiful book, its attractive period binding in fine
condition. A translation into English by Clara Bell was published in
1884, as ‘Fridolin’s Mystical Marriage’. Needless to say, its
modern reprints are hideously ugly.
